The PETITION

WHEREAS, all human beings are created in the image of God and possess inherent dignity and worth from the moment of conception;

WHEREAS, the intentional killing of an innocent human being is murder, regardless of age, location, or stage of development;

WHEREAS, abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent preborn human being and is therefore murder;

WHEREAS, the State of Michigan has a duty to protect all human life within its borders and to provide equal protection under the law for all persons;

WHEREAS, no court opinion, federal law, or state constitutional amendment can make murder legal or just;

THEREFORE, we the undersigned call upon the Michigan Legislature to immediately pass a bill of abolition that:

1. Defines abortion as the intentional killing of a preborn human being
2. Criminalizes abortion as murder, with appropriate penalties
3. Provides equal protection under the law for all human beings from the moment of conception
4. Contains no exceptions for rape, incest, or any other circumstance
5. Declares null and void any federal law, regulation, or court opinion that purports to permit abortion
